New Zontes R350

The Zontes company has completely renewed its range of motorcycles. Among the new versions, the R350 stands out, one of the two naked that the brand of Chinese origin has. Renewed and improved, but without losing its philosophy, these are the hallmarks of the new R350. Now it comes with a more powerful engine and has a new aluminum swingarm that has been reinforced and gives the bike great dynamism.

As we said, Zontes has made its range evolve after almost five years in which it has kept the current 310. And the change has been comprehensive, following the path that Zontes has implemented in all its two-wheelers. The main and most outstanding thing is the increase in the scope of the power of its engine, carrying out an increase in displacement, thanks to increasing the diameter of its piston to 348 cc.

In addition, other improvements have been made in the cycle part, with this new aluminum frame, previously made of steel, which gives the bike a much more robust image. The improvements have also reached its design, with new colours, technology, where the new proximity smart key or the constant monitoring of the condition of the tires on the motorcycle’s instrument panel are worth noting.

Zontes R350 engine

The new Zontes R350 comes with a great improvement in the field of propulsion. The displacement increases to 348 cc, when before it developed just 312. The increase in the diameter of the piston by 4.5 mm, from 80 to 84.5, is behind this evolution. Of course, the 62 mm stroke is maintained but with a new compression ratio. Thus, the performance of the engine is noticeable, it increases the maximum power to 39.44 CV, compared to the previous 34.8, and all this at the same speed of 9,500 revolutions.

Timing is handled by a DOHC double overhead camshaft. The exhaust system comes with a double overlapping exit and a double cooling for both water and oil. The clutch comes with a new slipper technology equipped with a new injection system from Germany’s Bosch. The size of the air filter has also been increased by up to 30% so that it breathes better.

Compared to its predecessor, the R350 improves the already powerful set of brakes by increasing the discs signed by J.Juan to 320 and 265 mm with a radial anchor caliper for the former and both accompanied by a dual-channel ABS modulator that contributes the German specialist Bosch. The new Zontes R350 will initially feature three different color schemes: Black, Blue White/Pearl and also features a major safety upgrade.

Brakes and suspensions of the Zontes R350

We have already told you that the reinforced steel frame arrives with the help of new improved suspensions and a newly created reinforced aluminum swingarm. The front end has a new inverted fork with 43 mm stanchions as well as a rear gas shock absorber. The brakes come with a double disc, one per axle, with a diameter of 320 mm and actuated by a 4-piston caliper. All this is assisted by a dual-channel ABS system, also from the German brand Bosch. As if this were not enough, the new Zontes R350 features 17″ alloy wheels mounted on tires measuring 120/70-17 and 160/60-17, front and rear respectively.

The Chinese house points out that the final weight of this renewed model is 165 kilograms running, which includes the 15-liter capacity of its fuel tank. It is worth noting the smart key or proximity smart key in the form of a bracelet, called PKE. With it, the vehicle can be started even though the key battery is dead, by bringing the key closer to the motorcycle through an induction system. In the field of its instrument panel, its large TFT Full Color LCD screen with four modes stands out, from which we can check the real-time status of the tires. This system will notify us in the event of a puncture or loss of pressure in the wheels.
